Baton Rouge Alumnae Member Slated for National Council

Baton Rouge Alumnae Member and Treasurer June Byrd, AH, has been slated by the Phi Mu Fraternity Nominating Committee as a National Vice President on the National Council for the next biennium (2022-2024). Upon election, she will serve alongside five other members of the National Council. A longstanding member and officer of the Baton Rouge Alumnae Chapter and President of the Alpha Eta House Corporation, we are so proud to support June in this next step of her Phi Mu membership and service. Voting will occur at the 2022 Phi Mu National Convention in Phoenix, AZ. Congratulations June! We are beyond proud of you!

Baton Rouge Alumnae Member Selected as National Volunteer

Baton Rouge Alumnae Member and Recording Secretary Leah Paternostro, AH, has been selected to be a National Volunteer by Phi Mu HQ. She will serve a term as an Alpha Area Membership Director (Alpha AMD) and will help four Phi Mu chapters across the country in membership, new member and Panhellenic areas, including the Kappa Iota Chapter at Northwestern State University, the Epsilon Lambda Chapter at Arkansas Tech University, the Zeta Zeta Chapter at St. Louis University and the Eta Xi Chapter at California State University — Stanislaus. We congratulate Leah as she volunteers in this role after being selected as a 2020 Phi Mu Chapter Consultant prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

April 2021 Alumnae Chapter of the Month

This month, the Baton Rouge Alumnae Chapter was selected by Phi Mu HQ as the April 2021 Alumnae Chapter of the Month. We were featured on the Phi Mu Blog—A Vibrant View—and official Phi Mu Fraternity website to recognize this achievement. The blog post detailed how diverse we are (representing nearly 20 collegiate chapters), how we support our Heart to Heart chapter (Alpha Eta at Louisiana State University), and how we continue to raise money for our local CMN Hospital (Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital). They even highlighted some of our notable alumnae members. Above all, we were recognized for our resilience to stay connected during the COVID-19 pandemic, such as Zoom meetings and Founders’ Day celebrations. We are so proud of each and every member of this alumnae chapter who has contributed to this exciting recognition!

National Convention 2020 Awards

Although virtual, Phi Mu still conducted biennium business this July at the 2020 National Convention. This year, the Baton Rouge Alumnae Chapter was recognized for many achievements, including 100% Alumnae Chapter Reporting, Forever Faithful membership, and Honorable Mention Alumnae Ritual. In addition, we are thrilled to announce that we were awarded Honorable Mention for the Wesleyan Cup! The Wesleyan Cup is the highest honor an alumnae chapter can receive and is presented to the alumnae chapter that consistently operates, throughout the biennium, at outstanding levels in all areas of operations. We are so proud of our Baton Rouge Alumnae Members!
